Vomiting can occur due to many underlying reasons. Acid reflux is just one of them. Frequent vomiting is certainly a cause of concern. You should seek medical help if you observe regular vomiting at least once a week. Once it is established that the vomiting is being caused by acid reflux then you must start taking action to stop it.

A sour taste in the throat after food is a sure sign of food moving up in the esophagus. This is acid reflux producing heartburn like symptoms. It may or may not induce vomiting. The frequent acid reflux will damage the food pipe lining and can lead to many other complications including cancer.

Begin with one lifestyle change at a time to create a new sustainable habits. Begin to eat slowly! Put conscious efforts to eat slowly during every meal. Tell someone in the family to remind you. If you eat slowly you will eat less which will automatically solve the problem of over eating.

Believe it or not anxiety is one of the other causes of overeating. Eating slowly will reduce the anxiety also.

In majority of cases this will stop acid reflux and the resulting vomiting. If these measures don’t work then take medical help but don’t ignore vomiting due to acid reflux. It may lead to other bigger problems in time to come or it may already be giving early signs of major underlying cause of illness which can be prevented now.
