Skin tags (acrochordons) are harmless, small, dark flesh-colored growths on the outer surface of the skin. They look are soft and like warts.

Most skin tags usually appear on the neck, lower part of the breast, arms and armpits. On the face they usually occur on eyelids. Both men and women can get skin tags.

Since they are considered harmless you can live with them forever, but most people want to get rid of them as they impact the physical appearance. Skin Tag removal is not difficult, and you can use the following home remedies to make your skin look smooth and normal again.

 

Though most of the skin tags are small in size can be measured in millimeters, some can be as long as 5 centimeter. You should carefully remove them depending on where they appear on the body. Extra care and precaution and even professional medical help may be required to remove skin tags on the eyelids.

How to Apply Juices and Extracts on Skin Tags

First of all, wash and clean the surface area of the tag and the skin around it with warm water. Pat it dry with a towel.

All the following remedies are either juices or extracts. They should all be applied with a dropper to get the best results. Take any one of the extract in a dropper and let a drop fall exactly on the skin tag.

Let the first drop dry for 10 seconds. Now let another drop fall on the same tag. Apply 3 times with a gap of 10 seconds between each drop. If the tag is large, then use 2-3 or more drops drops at a time to cover the entire raised area of the tag.

You can also take the juice or extract on a cotton ball and dab it on the tags.

1. Lemon Juice

Lemon Juice is simple to extract. Apply with dropper or cotton ball on the skin tags. Lemon juice has anti inflammatory capabilities. It contains limonene—a naturally-occurring oil that retards the growth of cells that are unnecessary.

With its healing properties it also lightens the skin color. Direct application of lemon juice on skin may sting skin. if you can bear it, great! Otherwise you can dilute the lime juice with water for skin tag application.

 

2. Onion Extract

Chop onions in an opinion chopper. Put the chopped onion directly on a fine mesh strainer. Squeeze the chopped onions to strain the juice. Apply it on skin tags. Onion contains Vitamin A, C and E antioxidants to protect against free radicals.

3. Garlic Juice

Extracting garlic juice is simpler than extracting onion juice but the process is the same. garlic contains a naturally occurring chemical called allicin which helps fighting bacteria. Direct application of garlic extract on the skin tags two times a day will get rid of them within 2 weeks in most cases.

4. Apple Cider Vinegar

Amino acids in Apple Cider Vinegar (ACV) fights the bacteria and keep the skin well hydrated. Direct application may sting the skin, but it is well worth the inconvenience to get rid of skin tags. Apply two times daily for 2-3 weeks.

5. Dandelion Root Extract

You can buy dandelion root extract and apply. If you want to make the dandelion extract at home, then be aware that it is time consuming. For the purpose of skin tags you will have to make a tincture.

Place dandelion root in a jar and cover with alcohol. Vodka will do fine. Cover the jar tightly and allow to steep 4-6 weeks. Shake the mix at least once a day to maintain consistency. Strain out plant material and store the extraction in a dark glass bottle.
