Black cohosh for birth control

Natural Birth Control Methods

Abortion is not the answer to birth control, but prevention is. From ancient times women have been using natural methods to avoid unwanted pregnancy.

Parenting should be a choice not an accident. For any healthy women, abortion or birth control pills should not be the preferred options to avoid or delay parenting as both have adverse effect on your health both in short and long term.

From ancient times men and women have been using many natural and herbal methods for birth control. However, whether it is a natural remedy for birth control or conventional medical method, it can fail. The only advantage of using any method of birth control is that it increases the probability of not getting pregnant.

If you do not want a baby yet, then you must use some methods of matting that does not let the women conceive. Use the following natural and herbal remedies for birth control.

1. Abstinence

Well we know that if there is no action, then there is no result. Abstinence is one of the healthiest options for birth control. But this may not be the preferred option as sex is also an important part of a couples happy life. So instead of a complete abstinence you can have selective abstinence.

This is how it works if you decide to go for it.

Lifespan of a sperm is 5 days and ovum is one day. A woman is fertile only for 6 days i.e, 5 days before the day of ovulation and on the ovulation day. Therefore, if a woman has sex six or more days prior to her ovulation than she can not get pregnant.

Now if you can manage these 6 days of abstinence then you are doing natural birth control. No herb, no medicine, not surgery. Safest way of birth control.

But, there is a catch. If the ovulation occurs earlier then you are in trouble. If a woman is having regular periods then you can easily workout those six days of abstinence.

If the woman for whatever reasons has a delayed or early ovulation then all your calculations can go out of the window. So you see even the safest method is not safe always. But there is no doubt that this method of abstinence has not adverse health side effects.

2. Condoms

Should we call use of condoms as a natural method of birth control? It certainly is. You are neither consuming any chemical peel nor undergoing any surgery to prevent child birth.

It is one of the cheapest and widely accepted method of birth control as well as having a safe sex. It helps to avoid many diseases that can be sexually transmitted.

3. Papaya

Papaya has been used since ancient times to prevent unwanted pregnancies. If you suspect that the pregnancy may occur then

  • eat 200 grams of papaya 2 times a day for 34 days
  • avoid sex for next 3-4 days to ensure that no more sperm supply is made to the uterus

This is not a 100% sure shot, but it significantly reduces the probabilities of conceiving. If your preganacy test is positive after 3 -4 days then do not use ppaya as it may lead to miscarriage which can be more difficult to manage.

Papaya is also good for giving you radiant skin. So there are other advantages too.

4. Ginger

Ginger is available almost in every home. It delays pregnancy.

  • Cut 1 inch of ginger root and peel the skin
  • Crush it in fine pieces or shred it in a shredder
  • Put the shredded ginger in one glass of boiling water.
  • Let it steep for 5 minutes
  • Let it cool to palatable temperatures and sip

You can add honey for taste. Drink ginger tea 2-3 times a day.

5. Black Cohosh

Cohosh roots can change uterine contractions that helps in avoiding pregnancy. It is almost similar to what the hormone oxytocin and saponin do. So if you had sex without any protective measures and believe that pregnancy may occur then use cohosh roots tea.

Keep drinking cohosh tea 2-3 times a day until your menstruation period starts. YOu are safe now.
