Impossible to Ignore Symptoms of Acne

It is almost impossible to notice the symptoms of Acne which usually appears on face, neck, shoulders, chest and back.

These areas of skin have the largest number of functional oil glands. It typically causes one or more of the following conditions e.g. greasy skin , blackheads (open comedones) , whiteheads (closed comedones), red or yellow spots (pustules) , deep inflamed lesions (nodules and cysts) and scars.

In females it often flares up at certain points in the menstrual cycle. It can be broadly categorized as Non-inflammatory and inflammatory acne. it can either last for a few months to many years or it comes and goes throughout the life.

Symptoms of Acne - Non-inflammatory

Most people in their teens get non–inflammatory type. When you begin to see a few whiteheads and/or blackheads on the face, you can assume that it may be onset of non-inflammatory acne symptoms. 

These are relatively mild type of acne and often can be treated effectively with home remedies. These types of acne are not red or painful. Non-inflamed acne symptoms include either bumps or bumpiness across the skin's surface or an uneven skin texture. Even if acne is not visible, it will make the skin feel rough. If non-inflamed type is left untreated it may progress to inflamed acne.

Symptoms of Acne - inflammatory

Inflamed acne is characterized by redness and inflammation. Those with inflamed type will have blackheads, papules, pustules, and possibly nodules and cysts. In inflammatory type the whiteheads get inflamed developing into red pimples and pustules. Inflammatory acne symptoms include redness, swelling, and irritation of the skin.

Most inflamed type sufferers will experience only the occasional pustule while others will suffer more challenging cysts. Cystic acne is the most serious form of inflamed type. Inflamed type sufferers are at high risk for scarring and other skin damages. Prescription drugs and sometimes surgery are needed to treat inflammatory acne.
