Sinus Headache Symptoms- Difference Between Migraine and Sinus Headache Symptoms!

Most of the time sinus headache symptoms get confused with migraine. A detailed understanding will reveal that both headaches are very different in the symptoms and the suffering.

The first obvious differentiation is that ff you re suffering from sinus infection then the associated headache is a sinus headache. Some times the sinus infection is mild and not so clearly defined that is when one can get it confused with migraine.

Sinus headache is usually on the front side of the face, where as migraine occurs on the sides. Sinus headache is a deep pain on the forehead, cheek bones and near the nasal cavities.

The sinus headache will have associated symptoms of nasal discharge, swelling of the face and even fever in some case. Migraine will have none of the above.

It is very much possible that you have a migraine and the sinus both simultaneously. This is when the trouble begins.

Since the migraine usually occurs on the sides of the face and sinus on the front side, a simultaneous occurrence can feel the entire head pain.

Taking rest under such circumstances will help. Sleeping in a calm and dark room will help getting rid of the migraine first with simultaneous treatment of sinus bring relief.

There is a misconception that allergies can cause sinus headache. This is both wrong and right. Wrong because allergies alone can not produce sinus headache and right because allergies can lead to sinus infection which then leads to sinus headache.

Sinus headache symptoms will continue as long as the infection is present. The severity of the pain can change but total relief will only come when the sinus infection is completely cured.
