In both the conditions the skin becomes itchy red and scaly. The major difference is in the texture of the scaly patches which are drier in scalp psoriasis as compared to the patches in seborrheic dermatitis.

Also psoriasis is a condition which develops in multiple locations in the body. So if you have scalp psoriasis then you will have it on your elbows, knees, hands and feet

Does Scalp Psoriasis Lead to Hair Loss?


The biggest worry of most people about any skin problem on the scalp is hair loss. So it is not abnormal to get worried when you get psoriasis on the scalp.

There is no evidence of losing hair due to the skin condition itself. However, the scratching done to reduce the itch can become responsible for hair fall.

Scalp Psoriasis Treatment


Application of Medical treatment of scalp psoriasis is different than the application on any other part of the body. Usually creams and lotions will be difficult to apply on the scalp so the medicine is dispensed through foams, liquids and shampoos.
