Every woman’s experience of pre-manopause symptoms is different. Some have wide ranging symptoms and others may not have any symptoms at all during the early Menopause period.
Menopause means compete stoppage of regular monthly periods. This happens as the ovaries stop producing estrogen. This may happen suddenly or gradually in natural circumstances and suddenly when ovaries are removed surgically.
Pre-Menopause is the period before the actual menopause occurs. The Symptoms of early menopause may begin to appear as early as at the age of 40 and may last for 2-8 years. During this time the regular monthly periods begin to show irregularities in terms of the time between the two periods and the extent of bleeding.

Vaginal and bladder infections may occur in some cases due to fall in estrogen levels which lead to reduced lubrication of vaginal tissues. This also induces pain during relationships.
Declining estrogen levels also reduce bone density increasing the risk of osteoporosis.
Another impact of reduced estrogen levels is changes in cholesterol balance. The bad cholesterol (LDL) levels are increased and good cholesterol (HDL) levels are reduced. This change of ldl/hdl ratio can cause heart diseases.
Other common symptoms is hot flashes and sleep disorders. More than 70% of the pre-menopause women experience different intensities of hot flashes and night sweats. This causes sleeping problems. Some women may experience sleeping problems without hot flashes.
Some woman experience mood swings irritability and depression during the pre-menopause period. This usually is an out come of sleeping disorders and hot flashes.
Generally there is no need to get medical attention. Menopause is a natural process and most women have to learn to deal with it. However, if there one feels that the pain or other symptoms are severely affecting the lifestyle then a visit to gynecologist will certainly help.
