Boils on Inner Thighs

A boil is a boil- painful and dis-comfortable. Most boils on thighs, groin, buttocks, arm pits, breasts, and face are hard reddened bumps filled with pus. They are also known as skin abscess. A cluster of boils formed is generally referred to as 'Carbuncle'. 

The pain caused by the boils can be excruciating followed by fever and fatigue in some cases. The boils on inner thigh are called Folliculitis.

Boils are mainly caused by the bacteria Staphylococcus aureus. This usually harmless bacteria resides dormant in most people. When it infects the deeper inner tissues that is when boils are formed.

Generally a boil will mature itself to form a white and erupt. So wait and watch it for the eruption. Never pick at the boil. Let it mature and erupt. You can give hot compress to reduce the pain. Some of the home remedies that are found useful in dealing with the boils on inner thigh are use of toothpaste or turmeric on the outer surface. This expedites white head formation in most cases. Once the white head is formed and erupted, clean the area with antifungal, antibacterial agent or apply turmeric powder to heal it dry.

Heat compresses are usually the best natural treatment to deal with boils on inner thigh. This increases circulation around the boil which helps drainage of the puss quicker.

Make sure that skin hygiene around the infected area is maintained to avoid re-occurrences of boils on inner thigh.
