Is Bronchitis contagious?

Of course bronchitis is contagious! It spreads easily to others therefore if you are suffering from bronchitis then you must treat it and take all the precautions to ensure that you don’t spread it.

The virus can transfer the disease from the affected person to the normal person through sneeze or cough.

The virus can spread in two different ways. One is through the air and the other through physical contacts such as shaking hands with a person who has been coughing and his hands are not washed.

If you maintain proper hygiene habits then you are reducing probabilities of spreading it. Make sure that you don’t spread the virus in the air by coughing and sneezing. Use a hand towel or disposable tissue paper during sneezing and coughing and then dispose the tissue paper.

Wash your hands before meals and after using toilets. If you are suffering from acute bronchitis then take proper medication prescribed by a doctor. Asthma patients normally get acute bronchitis whenever they get infected. For them medicine is a immediate necessity.

Increase your body resistance to fight with the infection. This can be done in two natural ways. One is by taking enough rest and other hydrating yourself by drinking a lot of water and other liquids such as juices.

Air conditioned houses, offices and cars are the most prominent place where the air is continuously recirculated. One sneeze of an acute bronchitis sufferer is enough to spread it to others in that confined space.

So if you take care then your bronchitis can be stopped from being spread, otherwise bronchitis will spread to others as it is highly contagious.
