How to Stop a Toothache – Fast Pain Relief


Toothache in simple terms is a pain in the tooth. It just can be mild or excruciating. The pain can be due to a dental problem, gum disease or any other conditions such as sinus infections and angina and even more serious conditions like heart problems.

It is not only about how to stop a toothache but about protecting yourself from fatality if any. Every toothache should be taken seriously and if the medical attention should be given particularly if the toothache is not due to any gum or dental disease.

Other dental conditions that cause pain in the tooth are gum disease, dental abscess and irritation of the tooth root in addition to cracked tooth etc.

If the pain is being caused by the cavity then the only way it can be stopped is by filling the cavity at the least and by extracting the tooth at the worst.
Infection in the cavity can take shape of dental abscess which causes severe pain Most of the time this means removal of the tooth.

Gum diseases such as plaque sticking to the tooth are another big cause of the toothache. This happens when the soft tissues of the gum are inflamed. Early stage will show some bleeding with no pain but later it can turn into chronic toothache. 

The pain gets affected by climatic conditions and drinking and eating cold and hot foods.

Though Sinus infection is not dangerous but the toothache with neither sinus infection nor any dental or gum disease should raise an alarm. This may be due to angina or even advance heart trouble like heart attack. So take immediate medical help in such cases.

There are many ways to stop toothache pain including some simple home remedies and general hygiene practices.

Food that is caught between the teeth can cause toothache. This type of tooth pain can be stopped by simple flossing and rinsing with hot water.

Clove oil properly applied over the cavity gives instant pain relief from toothache. If the cavity is visible, then clean it and apply a drop or two of clove oil by cotton. This will stop toothache.

Application of hot or cold packs on the affected tooth or the entire jaw and applying acupressure can sometimes produce marvelous results to provide instant relief from toothache pain.
The other sever method to stop the pain require medical treatment which may include removal of the affected tooth.

The best method to prevent tooth ache is by maintaining proper dental hygiene and regular visits to your dentist.

If proper care is taken then most of the people don’t have to even think about how to stop toothache and get pain relief. They will simply not have it due to the preventative methods taken.
