Eczema Symptoms-Be Aware of These Symptoms of Eczema!

Appearance of eczema varies from person to person but it invariably starts with itches and burns. The appearance can vary depending on the type of eczema also.

Itching is symptoms of many other diseases. Therefore, itching alone can not straight away be considered the sign of eczema. Itching along with some other symptoms confirms eczema.

The skin may get discolored and reddish to brown-grayish patches may begin to appear on the skin. The redness usually is due to inflammation where the blood supply increases but it can also be due to bacterial infection.

The affected area may get thickened due to scratching. This signals onset of eczema.

Depending on the type of eczema and presence of infection large blisters filled with fluid or puss may appear.

Eczema can also result in dry and scaly skin which can get thickened and crusty due to excessive scratching.

Any part of the body can get affected by eczema but it generally appears on the face, forehead, check bones, neck and inside of the elbows, knees and ankles. It can also occur on scalp.

Eczema some times can temporarily occur due to reaction to some food or medicine. Such eczema can last for few hours to a few days and then disappear.

When eczema is severe and the itching is intense it can lead to sleeplessness.

Eczema can also occur as a result of family history, hay fever and asthma.

When discomfort levels are high and it distracts you from other important activities or when puss or infection is observed then it is time to see your doctor. Otherwise normal chronic eczema can be treated with home remedies for eczema.
