There are many causes of Bronchitis. Some are environmental and others are related to habits.

Causes of Bronchitis 1- Pollutants
Dust mites are the Most common pollutant responsible for the condition. Other pollutions include inhalation of chemicals. Some people become victims of what is called occupational hazards. Constant exposure to cotton, flax and hemp dust etc are the occupation related causes. In addition constant exposure to chemical fumes from strong acids, chlorine, bromine, sulfur dioxide and ammonia will induce bronchitis. In such cases it usually clears up when exposure to these substances is removed.
Causes of Bronchitis 2- Cigarette Smoking
It is alarming that smoking is one of the main causes of bronchitis. This type develops over a long period of time and is chronic. Most smokers find it hard to recover from this even after quitting smoking. Passive smokers who get high level of smoke exposure are also susceptible to get chronic bronchitis. Health conscious governments around the glob have banned smoking in public places to save people from passive smoking.
Causes of Bronchitis 3- Viruses and bacteria
Most of the time virus and bacteria is picked up from other person suffering form it. More incidences of such infections happen during cold and flu season when a person comes in contact with the bacteria from other sufferers. Better personal hygiene habits can help the possibility of getting the infection. Avoid coming too close to people suffering from such infections. Always ensure that your hands are washed before you touch your nose, eyes or mouth.
Causes of Bronchitis 4- Low resistance
Chances of getting infection and suffer from this condition increase if the body resistance is reduced due to any other underlying illness particularly common cold.
