Understand Arthritis Symptoms Early!
Most arthritis symptoms are usually confusing and very vague in early stages. It can be simple joint pain, stiffness or tenderness in and around the joint. Redness around the affected area can also be manifested. Movement of one or more joints can be limited to a narrower range.
The signs develop more definitive as the condition progresses. Following are some of the common arthritis symptoms;
1 – Joint Pain
The first sign of onset of the condition is usually reflected as joint pain. A persistent pain is more definitive symptom of arthritis. Pain can be acute or chronic. Acute pain is usually temporary. Chronic pain (mild to severe) can last for weeks to a lifetime. Arthritis is normally associated with chronic pain.
2 – Tenderness in Joints
Feeling of tenderness in a joint that gets aggravated by even simple activities such as walking, throwing a ball, getting up from a chair, typing or writing, turning a key or even holding an object is a clear indication of possibilities of arthritis. Other complex activities are generally more difficult and painful for such sufferers.
3 – Inflammation
Any inflammation characterized by stiffness, swelling or redness in and around joints is a sign of arthritis.
4 – Joint Deformation
Joint deformity is its visual manifestation. Hand deformity is one of the common characteristics associated with rheumatoid arthritis.
5 – Reduced Range of Motion
When the range of motion of joints are reduced in terms of how far a joint can be stretched or how far can be bent then it is a most likely due to arthritis. This applies to all the joints that allow the skeleton movement.
Other symptoms of arthritis include unexplained weight loss, lack of energy, feeling of weakness and extreme fatigues.
